Position: Events and Communications Manager

Location: Manchester

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in the office per week)

Contract: 15-month fixed-term, starting ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Events & Communications Manager to oversee our client’s external corporate events. This role supports their business development team, focusing on enhancing brand awareness and reputation within the sector.

The ideal candidate will have strong event management skills, including project coordination and logistics, from promotion and sponsorship to content development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of monthly events.
  • Manage logistics such as venue bookings, marketing materials, invoicing, and packing lists for exhibitions.
  • Organize internal engagement events, sourcing venues and managing budgets.
  • Serve as primary contact for event-related inquiries.
  • Support event delivery on the day, overseeing the team.
  • Evaluate event performance and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate on an external events calendar with senior management.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and review of each event.
  • Oversee hiring of event personnel when needed.
  • Monitor and assess event success, gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
Communications
  • Lead communication and marketing strategies for events and projects.
  • Manage event promotion, including invitations and social media collaboration.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities and secure sponsors.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for aligned messaging.
  • Create marketing strategies with PR & Communications teams.
  • Support internal communications and recruitment outreach.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • At least 3 years in event management and communications planning.
  • Strong logistical and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in B2B marketing and engagement strategies.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or direct reports.
  • Proficiency with Zoom Webinar, Salesforce, Canva, or similar tools.
  • Experience in agency environments.
