Job description

Events and Communications Manager

Location: Southampton

Hybrid: 2 days in the office per week

Contract: 15-month fixed-term, starting ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Events & Communications Manager to lead external corporate events for our client, We Are Adam, based in Southampton. This role supports business development by enhancing brand awareness and reputation in the sector.

The ideal candidate will have strong event management skills, including project coordination and logistics, from promotion and sponsorship to content development.

Event Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, coordination, and delivery of monthly events.
  • Manage logistics such as venue bookings, marketing materials, invoices, and packing lists for sector-specific exhibitions.
  • Organize internal engagement events, including sourcing venues.
  • Manage budgets for business development events.
  • Serve as the main contact for event-related inquiries.
  • Support on-the-day event coordination.
  • Assess event performance and gather feedback for improvements.
  • Develop an external events calendar with the Chief Customer Officer.
  • Oversee hiring of event personnel as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate event success for continuous improvement.
Communications Responsibilities
  • Lead communication and marketing strategies for events and projects.
  • Promote events through email invitations, RSVPs, social media, and collaboration with the BD team.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities and secure sponsors.
  • Ensure messaging alignment across internal teams.
  • Create marketing and communication strategies with the Head of PR & Communications.
  • Support internal communications with the People Team.
Essential Requirements and Skills
  • At least 3 years' experience in event management and communications planning.
  • Strong logistical and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in B2B marketing and engagement strategies.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or direct reports.
  • Proficiency with Zoom Webinar and CRM platforms like Salesforce.
  • Skills in Canva or similar creative tools.
  • Experience in an agency environment.
