Events and Communications Manager

Location: Manchester

Hybrid: 2 days in the office per week

Fixed Term: 15-month fixed contract. To start ASAP

We’re looking for an experienced Events & Communications Manager to lead our client’s external corporate events. This role supports their business development team, with a focus on raising brand awareness and reputation in the sector.

You'll bring solid events management skills, including project coordination and logistics, from event promotion and sponsorship to developing content and collateral.

Event Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, coordination, and delivery of the client’s monthly events program.
  • Manage event logistics such as venue bookings, marketing materials, invoice processing, and packing lists to support attendance at sector-specific exhibitions.
  • Organize internal engagement events, including sourcing venues.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for all Business Development events.
  • Serve as the primary contact for event-related inquiries.
  • Support event delivery with on-the-day coordination.
  • Evaluate event performance, gather feedback, and suggest improvements.
  • Collaborate on developing an external corporate events calendar.
  • Plan events from concept to delivery, ensuring documentation and review.
  • Oversee hiring of event personnel as needed.
  • Monitor and assess event success, including feedback collection and debrief meetings.
Communications Responsibilities
  • Lead communication and marketing strategies for events and projects.
  • Manage event promotion, including invitations, RSVPs, and social media collaboration.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities and secure sponsors.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for aligned messaging.
  • Create marketing and communication strategies with PR & Communications team.
  • Develop internal communication plans with the People Team.
Essential Requirements and Skills
  • At least 3 years’ experience in event management and communications planning.
  • Strategic planning, logistical coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Desirable Requirements and Skills
  • Experience in B2B marketing and engagement strategies.
  • Experience managing team members.
  • Proficiency in Zoom Webinar, Salesforce, Canva, and agency experience.
