Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking an Events Officer to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of council-led outdoor events across Redditch and Bromsgrove. This 3-month contract role requires hybrid working between Redditch Town Hall and Bromsgrove Town Hall, with attendance at events and occasional evenings.

You will lead on event planning, stakeholder liaison, contractor coordination, and health and safety compliance, ensuring well-organised, safe, and inclusive events.

Qualifications

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience.
  • Experience coordinating or delivering events.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and contractors.
  • Knowledge of event health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to attend events outside normal office hours when required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of Council-led outdoor events.
  • Assist in the development of event plans, schedules, and delivery programmes.
  • Coordinate event logistics to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Monitor progress against plans and deadlines.
  • Assist in developing event management documentation and operational plans.
  • Liaise with internal departments, contractors, partner organisations, and community groups.
  • Build positive working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support communication between all parties involved in event delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with emergency services and external agencies where required.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and service providers involved in events.
  • Monitor contractor performance and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with agreed specifications and timescales.

  • Support the implementation of event health and safety procedures.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing risk assessments and event documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote safe working practices at all times.

Events Officer – 3 Month Contract

Location: Redditch Town Hall / Bromsgrove Town Hall (Hybrid Working)

Rate: £17.91 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract: Temporary (3 Months)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Pay: Bi-weekly

Working Pattern
  • Hybrid working arrangement.
  • Based between Redditch Town Hall and Bromsgrove Town Hall.
  • Attendance at events is required.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required depending on the events programme.
Essential Requirements

Summary

This is a 3‑month contract role supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of Council‑led outdoor events across Redditch and Bromsgrove. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of safe, well‑organised, inclusive, and professionally managed events.
