JOB TITLE: Event Operations Manager

START DATE: ASAP

SALARY: £30k – 35k (Depending on experience)

BASED: Manchester (Travel is involved for events)

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 2+ years event experience at managerial level

An fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated, and hard-working individual to join the Operations Team at RunThrough. At RunThrough, we strive to excel in what we do and have fun while doing so. We are always looking for development opportunities and moments to grow, helping our staff reach their potential.

We are seeking a candidate to manage and support the delivery of cutting-edge and professional mass-participation running events. Responsibilities include event planning, venue management, and ensuring high standards in the preparation and delivery of events. The candidate may also oversee a small team as a line manager.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and develop relationships with venues, councils, traffic management contractors, businesses, etc.
  2. Create and update event management plans and risk assessments.
  3. Conduct official course measurements for new event courses.
  4. Lead the course team on event days, ensuring correct setup and pack-down of courses. Act as the lead cyclist for events where appropriate.
  5. Line management of a small team of Operations staff.
Essential Skills and Requirements
  • Passionate about physical activity and running.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Previous line management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely during the week.
  • Willing to work weekends with early start and finish times.
  • Knowledge of the UK running industry.
