With a commitment to precision and excellence, they specialize in providing high-end catering services in some of London’s most prestigious venues. They are seeking a highly organized and experienced Event Operations Manager to join our team and oversee the seamless execution of events.

Job Overview:

As the Event Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of event delivery, ensuring that every event runs smoothly and meets the highest standards of service. This role requires hands-on leadership, logistical expertise, and the ability to work under pressure while coordinating multiple moving parts. You will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and venue staff to ensure that the setup, execution, and breakdown of each event is executed flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Preparation & Logistics:

  1. Oversee the logistical planning of each event, including staffing, equipment, and transportation needs.
  2. Coordinate with suppliers, venues, and internal teams to ensure all operational requirements are in place before each event.
  3. Develop and implement operational plans, timelines, and checklists for the setup, execution, and breakdown of events.
  4. Ensure that health, safety, and food hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.

On-Site Event Management:

  1. Serve as the on-site lead for the operations team, managing the event setup, service, and breakdown.
  2. Supervise the setup of catering equipment, dining areas, and service stations, ensuring adherence to client specifications and quality standards.
  3. Oversee event staff, ensuring they are fully briefed, trained, and equipped to perform their roles.
  4. Handle any operational challenges that arise during the event, troubleshooting issues quickly and effectively to ensure the event runs smoothly.
  5. Manage and mentor a team of event staff, including chefs, servers, and logistics personnel.
  6. Coordinate staffing levels based on the size and scope of each event, ensuring optimal efficiency without compromising on service quality.
  7. Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment, ensuring strong communication between all departments involved in the event.
  8. Monitor staff performance during events and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Post-Event Review & Reporting:

  1. Oversee the breakdown and clean-up of event sites, ensuring that venues are returned to their original condition.
  2. Conduct post-event debriefs with the team to evaluate operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
  3. Maintain accurate records of event operations, including equipment inventory, staff attendance, and any operational challenges faced.
  4. Provide reports to senior management on event outcomes and operational insights.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Proven experience in event operations management, particularly in the catering or hospitality industry.
  2. Strong understanding of logistics, event coordination, and staff management.
  3. Excellent organizational skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously.
  5. Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing diverse teams.
  6. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and operational best practices.
  7. Flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  8. Proficiency with event management and scheduling software is a plus.
