Job summary

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is seeking an Event Crew member to support over 400 events annually. The role involves hands-on setup and breakdown, moving furniture, barriers, and AV gear, including driving and loading equipment for multiple venues and outdoor spaces.

You will work mainly outdoors, in a team, to tight schedules, with weekends and evenings required. A strong awareness of health and safety and effective communication with clients and suppliers is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and breakdown of events across Kew.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for Event Crew working in our Event Production team, who provide event crewing support to over 400 events per year.

Working on the ground you will work on the delivery of event set up and event breakdown of across Kew including weddings and private hire, visitor programming, fundraising events, official visits and large‑scale outdoor events including Christmas at Kew and Halloween at Kew.


Working mainly outdoors, on and with evenings and weekend work included, you will have experience of working in a team and successfully rigging and de‑rigging events and be a solution‑focused person who understands what it takes to work to tight timescales.

This is a hands‑on physical role managing and moving stocks of furniture, barriers, temporary structures and AV equipment and will include driving and loading of equipment in and out of multiple venues as well and outdoors.

The event crew ensure that crew tasks are completed on time and to a good standard and that appropriate feedback is provided to clients.

An awareness of best practice in the events sector, including health and safety requirement and competent handling of Audio visual and tech equipment is desirable.

Good communication skills will enable you to build an effective working relationship with internal colleagues, internal clients and external suppliers.

The salary for this position is£26,817 per annum [Grade 2]
