Wakehurst, the wild botanic garden at Kew, seeks an Event Coordinator to lead the weddings, corporate events and private venue hire portfolio. You’ll oversee enquiries through delivery, conduct show-rounds, manage client relationships and coordinate logistics with internal teams and external suppliers.
You’ll be based at Wakehurst with occasional visits to Kew, and regular evening/weekend work to support events. The role offers flexible working options and a strong benefits package.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Wakehurst, Kew's wild botanic garden in Sussex, as Event Coordinator. At a pivotal moment for our venue hire business, you'll help shape the next chapter of events at Wakehurst, supporting the growth of weddings, corporate events and private hire in one of the South-East’s most unique destinations.
Working across weddings, corporate events and private venue hire, you'll oversee the customer journey from initial enquiry through to successful event delivery. You'll conduct venue show-rounds, manage client relationships, coordinate event logistics and work closely with colleagues and suppliers to ensure every event is delivered to the highest standard.
We're looking for someone with previous experience in event sales and event delivery, alongside outstanding organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. You'll be proactive, enthusiastic and confident managing multiple priorities, with the ability to build strong relationships and create memorable experiences for our clients and guests.
This role will be primarily based at Wakehurst, with one day every fortnight spent at Kew Gardens to support collaboration across the wider Venue Hire team. Regular evening and weekend working will be required to support event delivery.

This role is based at Wakehurst with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.

The salary for this position is£29,451 - £30,192 (pro rata), depending on skills and experience [Grade 3]
