Job summary

Choices Homecare is seeking compassionate domiciliary care workers to join our Barnsley service. You will support people in their own homes during the 3:00pm–10:00pm window and on weekends, with flexible hours and zero-hour contracts.

Mileage is reimbursed at 30p per mile, and full training is provided. Experience is welcome but not essential; you will receive ongoing support and be part of a growing Optimo Care Group family across the UK.

Qualifications

• A caring, compassionate approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• UK driving licence and own vehicle is essential within certain routes/locations (we pay 30p per mile fuel allowance).

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with personal care needs (washing, dressing, toileting).
• Assist with medications and document in care plans.
• Prepare meals and assist with eating and drinking.
• Promote independence and daily living activities.
• Build positive relationships with individuals and families.
• Support emotional wellbeing and recognise distress or changes in behaviour.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
• Ensure a clean, safe home environment and maintain professional boundaries.
