Job summary

Choices Homecare is recruiting weekend care workers to support people in their own homes across the Sheffield region, delivering care with dignity and independence.

Shifts run 7:00am to 10:00pm with options for mornings, afternoons, and full days. Training is provided, and a UK driving licence with a mileage allowance is preferred for certain routes.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
• Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans.
• Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required.
• Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks.
• Building positive relationships with individuals and their families.
• Supporting emotional well-being and recognising signs of distress or changes in behaviour.
• Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home.
• Respecting confidentiality and always maintaining professional boundaries.

WEEKEND ONLY CARE WORKERS

£13.65 per hour

Choices Homecare are seeking compassionate Domiciliary Care Workers for our locations across the Sheffield region.

Working hours:

We are looking to recruit caring and reliable individuals who are interested in weekend-only work, supporting people in their own homes.

Our service operates between 7:00am and 10:00pm, with weekend shifts typically offered as:

• Morning shifts: 7:00am - 3:00pm
• Teas and beds shifts: 3:00pm - 10:00pm
• Full-day shifts, depending on your availability

We welcome applications from those who can work either one or both days at the weekend. While availability on both days is helpful, we are particularly keen to hear from applicants who are available on Sundays.

What You’ll Need

• UK Driving licence and own vehicle is essential within certain routes/locations (We pay 30p per mile fuel allowance)
• Alternative weekend availability
