Job summary

Wolseley UK Limited in Darlington is seeking a Transport Supervisor to support our afternoon and evening transport operation, ensuring drivers, routes and deliveries run smoothly. This role is ideal for someone stepping up from a Team Leader position, with full support and development provided to advance a career in transport and logistics.

The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience leading, supervising or coordinating people.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Good IT skills and experience managing emails, reports and operational systems.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the afternoon and evening transport operation, ensuring a safe and efficient service.
• Conducting driver check-ins and debriefs, managing transport queries and supporting a team of drivers.
• Planning routes, downloading tachograph data and completing transport administration and reporting.
• Working closely with warehouse teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Supporting driver performance through 1-2-1s, mid-year and annual reviews alongside the Transport Manager.
