Job summary

Sharnbrook Academy, part of Meridian Trust, is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Sports Centre Assistant to support the daily operation of its busy facilities. The role involves equipment setup, maintenance, safety compliance, and handling online bookings and payments.

This 17-hour-per-week position requires flexibility for after-school and early-evening shifts. Training in First Aid is required, with DBS checks as part of safeguarding protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sports centre or customer-facing environment.
• Ability to set up and clear equipment as required.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations for facilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up and clear equipment for the sports hall, fitness suite, outdoor courts and AGPs.
• Maintain and check the proper functioning of all sports equipment.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed and report faults to the appropriate manager.
• Carry out reception duties: process online bookings and payments and complete end-of-shift reports.
• Clean equipment daily and carry out repairs to gym equipment as needed.
• Provide First Aid support and complete all required reporting.
• Monitor bookings via the online system and set up equipment ahead of club or pay-to-play sessions.
