Job summary

Recruitment South East Ltd is recruiting for a School Cleaning Supervisor in Robertsbridge. The role runs 5pm–8pm, Monday to Friday (25 hours per week). Must have an enhanced DBS on the update service and a driving licence, as public transport is not available.

The supervisor will lead the evening cleaning team, perform hands‑on duties, allocate tasks, and ensure high cleanliness standards across classrooms and facilities within the school.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on update service is essential.
• Experience supervising a cleaning team is preferred.
• Good eye for detail and pride in high cleaning standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and well organised with a hands‑on approach.
• Ability to allocate tasks and ensure standards are met.
• Solid understanding of health, safety and hygiene requirements.
• Proactive in identifying and reporting issues.
• Comfortable working independently while supporting a team.
• Professional and approachable manner within a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, support, and work alongside the evening cleaning team.
• Carry out cleaning duties alongside the team to maintain high standards.
• Allocate cleaning tasks and ensure all designated areas are cleaned thoroughly and on time.
• Clean classrooms, communal areas, corridors, washrooms, and other designated areas as required.
• Monitor cleaning standards and address issues promptly.
• Ensure cleaning products and equipment are used safely and stored correctly.
• Identify and report cleaning, maintenance, or staffing issues to the appropriate person.
• Complete end-of-shift checks to ensure all tasks are completed.
• Support the team in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
