Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a part-time School Cleaner to join a cleaning team at Down High School in Downpatrick. The post involves after-school duties Mon-Thu 3:30pm-6:00pm and Fri 3:30pm-5:45pm, with responsibilities including floor care, carpet cleaning, toilet/shower cleaning, dusting and rubbish removal, all in line with safety rules.

The role requires adherence to COSHH, H&S law, and school policies; enhanced disclosure will be required.

Qualifications

• Essential: knowledge of the requirements of a School Cleaner.
• Essential: cleaning methods and health & safety procedures (COSHH).
• Desirable: experience with commercial cleaning tools such as buffing machinery.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and cycle-clean floors; remove stains from carpets and mats.
• Clean toilets and showers; wash and dust fixtures and fittings.
• Empty bins and manage refuse to designated points.
• Follow health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies.
