Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join Oakhill Primary Academy in Barnsley. This role is 15 hours per week, 3pm-6pm, Monday to Friday, 43 weeks per year, offering a flexible part-time contract.

You will work as part of a team to maintain clean, safe and welcoming teaching spaces, offices and communal areas, with full training provided and a strong focus on safeguarding and health & safety.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications are required; attitude and reliability valued.
• Experience in cleaning is desirable but training provided.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must follow health and safety procedures and COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices and communal areas with appropriate equipment.
• Clean internal surfaces including walls, windows, worktops and sanitary facilities.
• Empty bins and remove waste safely.
• Carry out carpet cleaning, stain removal and descaling.
• Replenish hygiene supplies (soap, hand towels, toilet rolls).
• Perform routine equipment safety checks and basic maintenance.
• Report damage or concerns promptly.
• Lock and unlock school premises and ensure site security.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguarding standards.
