Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a reliable Cleaner to join our friendly team at Springwell Academy East Leeds. You will perform cleaning duties across teaching spaces, offices and communal areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness.

Part-time role: 15 hours per week, 43 weeks per year, working 3pm-6pm Mon-Thu and 1pm-4pm Fri, with DBS checks and full training provided by the Trust.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices and communal areas using appropriate equipment.
• Clean internal surfaces including walls, windows, worktops and sanitary facilities.
• Empty bins and remove waste safely.
• Carry out specialist cleaning tasks as needed (carpet cleaning, stain removal).
• Replenish hygiene supplies (soap, towels, toilet rolls).
• Report damage or safety concerns promptly.
• Lock and unlock school premises and contribute to site security.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguarding standards.

Wellspring Academy Trust is looking for a reliable and dedicated Cleaner to join our friendly team. This is an important role where you'll help ensure our schools remain clean, safe and welcoming places for children, staff and visitors. We currently have a role working 15 hours per week, 43 weeks per year based at Springwell Academy East Leeds working 3pm - 6pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 1pm to 4pm. Successful applicants will work as part of a team to ensure a high level of customer service, and adhere to procedures such as; health and safety, COSHH and risk assessments. As a Cleaner, you will carry out a full range of cleaning duties across teaching spaces, offices and communal areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning classrooms, offices and communal areas using appropriate equipment (mopping, sweeping, buffing, suction cleaning and machine scrubbing)
• Cleaning internal surfaces including walls, windows, worktops and sanitary facilities
• Emptying bins and removing waste safely
• Carrying out specialist cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, stain removal and descaling
• Replenishing hygiene supplies (soap, hand towels, toilet rolls)
• Conducting routine equipment safety checks and basic maintenance
• Reporting damage, faults or concerns promptly
• Locking and unlocking school premises and ensuring site security
• Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding standards at all times, Contribute directly to a safe learning environment for young people
