Job summary

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Healthcare Assistant (Band 2) to join the Evening and Overnight District Nursing Team. The role involves driving, home visits, and helping with personal care during out-of-hours shifts.

You will work with registered nurses, undertake delivery of care in patients’ homes, and support with equipment logistics and safety. Fixed-term 12 months with flexible full/part-time hours.

Qualifications

• GCSE/NVQ level 2 or equivalent
• Driving Qualification
• Advance driving qualification (Desirable)
• Ability to undertake a range of tasks / follow direction
• Ability to work in a caring support role
• Ability to work flexibly to support the needs of the service
• Disclosure and Barring Service check required

Responsibilities

• Drive and route plan for visits to patients in their homes
• Provide care support alongside the registered nurse and assist with manual handling and personal care
• Manage stock rotation and equipment, check service dates and liaise with admin
• Ensure Trust vehicle checks, fuelling, mileage documentation
• Support registered nurse in personal care as required
• Deliver care during out-of-hours (evening and night shifts)
