Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for the Evening and Overnight District Nursing Service. The role supports registered nurses on high-priority home visits, driving, route planning, equipment handling and personal care during twilight and night shifts from 7pm to 8am.

The post requires a driving qualification and is fixed-term up to 12 months, with no visa sponsorship.

Formación

• Good general education to GCSE or NVQ level 2, or equivalent experience.
• Driving qualification.
• Experience in a caring support role helpful.

Responsabilidades

• Support the registered nurse on unplanned priority visits to patients in their own homes.
• Drive across the county to patients' homes and plan routes.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for each shift and transport them to the pool vehicle.
• Act as chaperone to the registered nurse.
• Provide personal care, cleaning, washing and bed changes as directed.
• Carry out manual handling, including bed to chair transfers, using slide sheets, hoists and stand aids as directed by the nurse.
• Manage stock rotation of overnight supplies using a proforma.
• Check equipment, stock levels and service dates of medical devices, and liaise with the team administrator.
• Follow Trust policy on driving a Trust vehicle, including visual checks, refuelling, mileage records and reporting issues.
• Equip the pool car for each shift, including completing the checklist and checking fuel and equipment.
• Follow the Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants and Health Care Support Workers and challenge others who do not
