Job summary

Ambitions Personnel is seeking Hygiene Operatives in Melton Mowbray to maintain cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene across the production facility. You will perform after-production cleaning of areas, equipment, and machinery to ready the site for the next shift.

The role requires a focus on HACCP/COSHH compliance, with training available. Experience in food manufacturing is preferred, and transport is often necessary due to shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Must have own transport due to location and shift times.
• Ideally experienced within food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
• Knowledgeable about food safety, allergen awareness and Health & Safety.
• Familiar with HACCP and/or COSHH procedures, training can be provided.
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning and hygiene duties across production areas in line with company procedures.
• Follow cleaning schedules and Hygiene Instruction Cards to ensure required standards are consistently achieved.
• Clean and maintain production equipment and machinery to a high standard.
• Identify and report any issues that could affect product quality, food safety, hygiene, production or the environment.
• Maintain accurate and clear cleaning and hygiene records.
• Follow all Health & Safety, food safety and company procedures.
• Work closely with Team Leaders and colleagues to identify opportunities to improve hygiene processes.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH requirements.
• Support the team in maintaining a safe, clean and efficient working environment.
