Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Facilities Domestic Assistant in Keswick. The role supports hospital domestic services with cleaning to high standards and adherence to infection prevention policies.

The position is part-time (20 hours weekly, Mon-Fri 4pm-8pm) with opportunities for additional hours. Training, DBS checks, and eligibility for sponsorship considerations are noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Essential cleaning and hygiene qualifications required for hospital/domestic work.
• Certification in cleaning standards and safety procedures.
• Experience in hospital/domestic cleaning desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collect linen stores as required.
• Comply with infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
• Safeguard children and vulnerable adults as applicable.
• Perform damp dusting of furniture and fittings at high and low levels.
• Mop floors and maintain surfaces using electrical equipment as needed.
• Check electrical equipment is PAT tested and in good condition.
• Clean toilets, baths and washbasins; manage waste per regulations.
• Assist ward/department duties and conduct second wipe cleaning when required.
• Protect against needle-stick risks, especially in toilet areas.
• Wear supplied uniform and protective clothing; make beds when requested.
