Job summary

Pertemps Southampton is seeking an Evening HGV Class 1 Shunter in Totton to join on a permanent basis. The role involves manoeuvring trailers in the yard and reversing into the warehouse at night, with responsibilities for loading and securing loads.

A forklift counterbalance is used for loading, with training offered. Candidates should have a valid UK driving licence (max 6 points) and an HGV Class 1 qualification (6 months experience preferred).

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• HGV Class 1 qualification preferred with some experience (6 months desired).
• CPC/Digi Tacho valid for driving commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Manoeuvre trailers around the yard and reverse into the warehouse at end of shift.
• Assist with loading trailers and securing loads, including strapping as required.
• Operate forklift counterbalance to load vehicles; training available.
