Job summary

CML in Telford is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Shunter to join our night shift team. This full-time, permanent role involves shunting vehicles in the yard and supporting trailer movements across the operation.

You must hold a full C+E entitlement with in-date CPC and Tacho Card, plus prior shunting experience. The role operates on a 4 on 4 off nights (18:00–06:00) with a salary of £36,924.95 per year, plus a £1,000 attendance bonus.

Qualifications

• Full C+E entitlement with in-date CPC and Tacho Card.
• Previous shunting experience in a busy yard.
• Knowledge of driver hours and Road Transport Directive; ability to work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Safely shunt vehicles and trailers around the yard.
• Position trailers as instructed and manage yard movements.
• Carry out safety checks and report defects promptly.
• Communicate with Transport and Yard teams using radios.
• Assist with trailer temperature checks, fridge settings and fuel levels.
• Maintain health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping standards.
