Job summary

St Elizabeth’s Centre in Hertfordshire is seeking a part-time Domestic Cleaner to maintain clean, safe and welcoming spaces across classrooms, residential areas and shared facilities. This role is term-time only with 25 hours per week (Mon-Fri 4pm-9pm) and involves following cleaning schedules, maintaining hygiene standards and supporting the Domestic Services Team.

You don't need prior care or education sector experience; reliability, attention to detail and a pride in doing things properly are

Qualifications

• You don't need to have worked in a specialist care or education setting before.
• What matters most is that you're reliable, take pride in your work and care about doing things properly.
• You'll understand that the little things matter - from a spotless classroom to a clean and welcoming communal space.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning duties including vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and emptying bins.
• Clean toilets and washrooms to high hygiene standards and restock supplies.
• Follow daily cleaning schedules while being responsive to ad-hoc requests.
• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
• Report any faults or maintenance issues promptly.
• Complete cleaning stock orders and keep records up to date.
• Work in line with COSHH and Health & Safety procedures.
• Undertake relevant training and support wider team needs where required.
