Job summary
Spirax Sarco is seeking a motivated CNC Machinist/Setter to join our Cheltenham manufacturing team. You will set and operate CNC lathes, read engineering drawings, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances in a quality-focused environment.
The role involves measuring with gauges and micrometers, following SOPs, and supporting ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives. On-site role with opportunities for skills development within Spirax Group.
Qualifications
- Experience in CNC setting and operating to close tolerances.
- Familiar with measuring gauges, verniers and micrometers.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- NVQ Level 2 in Manufacturing or Engineering is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts.
- Read engineering drawings and ensure accuracy.
- Inspect finished parts using gauges, verniers and micrometers.
- Deburr, clean and package components to required standards.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain production rates.
- Support machine maintenance, cleanliness, and asset care (FLOAC).
- Contribute to a safe working environment and EHS initiatives.
- Share ideas and actively participate in continuous improvement projects.
