Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is seeking an ambitious Chef to support university catering on a full-time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week and 41.4 weeks per year. You will prepare and serve high-quality food, lead menu changes, and help drive improvements while representing the universities and maintaining a positive brand image.

Ideal candidates hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent, have team supervisory experience, a Food Hygiene certificate, and a background in similar chef roles.

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Experience supervising a team.
• Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience in a similar Chef role.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services.
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to consistently improve our food services.
• Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts.
• Representing Universities and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep our kitchens well-stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
