Special People Ltd in London is seeking a calm, reliable Support Worker to provide 1:1 support to a young person with autism, global developmental delay and ADHD in the family home and local community.

You will work evenings (6:30pm–9:30pm) on Tue, Wed and Thu with occasional weekend shifts, following kosher dietary requirements and Orthodox Jewish household practices while building a trusting, patient relationship.

Qualifikationen

• Calm, reliable and experienced support worker
• Experience with autism, global developmental delay and ADHD
• Experience with children/young people and behavioural support needs
• Understanding of Orthodox Jewish customs, kosher dietary requirements and family practices

Aufgaben

• Provide 1:1 support within family home and local community
• Maintain close supervision and help the young person stay safe
• Build trusting, patient relationships with calm, non-pressured approach
• Support communication using gestures, Makaton, visual supports and picture/symbol systems
• Recognise signs of anxiety or distress and de-escalate appropriately
• Encourage engagement through preferred activities like music and sensory play
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and family guidance
• Record and report concerns and incidents promptly
