Job summary

Caterpillar in Peterborough, UK is seeking an EV Test Engineer to join the L5/L6 team and drive the electrification program. You will own mechanical and electrical integration, commissioning and testing across off-highway machines, working with Cat and third-party customers to validate against a range of requirements.

Based in our Europe Research & Development Centre, you will travel to test facilities, interpret drawings, develop electrical looms and work within a safety-focused, collaborative

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or relevant experience with increasing responsibility.
• Effective communications to convey ideas clearly with team members and stakeholders.
• Strong technical aptitude across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical subsystems.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and data analysis using common software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the Organisation’s health and safety policy and safe working practices.
• Effectively manage several machine integration projects simultaneously.
• Operate a multitude of off-highway vehicles as required.
• Diagnose and fix faults on machines and subsystems.
• Work from electrical, mechanical and hydraulic drawings.
• Produce electrical looms to interface components and the machine.
• Travel to various off-site test and development facilities (CAT and 3rd party).
