Job summary

Nolan Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced EV Maintenance & Installation Engineer for a field-based role covering Surrey, Kent and surrounding areas. The role involves installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding of AC and DC EV charging equipment.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, EICRs, and support three-phase installations with UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays. A Level 3 EV Charging qualification and a full UK driving licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and maintaining EV charging infrastructure (AC/DC).
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel UK-wide.
• Level 3 EV Charging qualification (City & Guilds 2921-34, EAL, NICEIC or equivalent) desirable.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and valid ECS/CSCS card.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on three-phase systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding and repairs on EV charging systems.
• Install, test and commission commercial and domestic EV charging equipment.
• Support larger installations involving three-phase supplies, containment and distribution.
• Complete electrical inspections and testing, ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide professional customer support and handovers on site.
• Travel UK-wide with occasional overnight stays and maintain high safety standards.

EV Maintenance & Installation Engineer

Employment type: Permanent, full-time

Location: Field-Based – Surrey / Kent and surrounding areas

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and overnight stays when required

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 p.a. DOE + Overtime + Company Vehicle + Fuel Card + Benefits

Company / Position

We are working with a rapidly growing EV infrastructure specialist delivering installation, maintenance and support services for commercial and domestic EV charging solutions across the UK.

This is a field-based role covering the installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning and fault-finding of EV charging equipment. The successful candidate will ideally be based in Surrey, Kent or the surrounding areas and must be comfortable with UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding and repairs on AC and DC EV charging systems.
• Install, test and commission commercial and domestic EV charging equipment.
• Support larger commercial installations involving three-phase supplies, containment and distribution equipment.
• Complete electrical inspection and testing, including EICRs, and ensure installations meet required standards.
• Diagnose electrical and technical faults and provide effective solutions on customer sites.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records and relevant technical documentation.
• Provide professional customer support, including handovers and communication with site managers and facilities teams.
• Manage workload independently while travelling throughout the UK and maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.

Experience / Skills Required

• Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services or equivalent is desired.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and valid ECS/CSCS Card.
• Level 3 EV Charging qualification, such as City & Guilds 2921-34, EAL, NICEIC or equivalent is desired.
• Level 3 Inspection & Testing qualification, such as 2391-52 or equivalent.
• Proven experience installing and maintaining EV charging infrastructure, ideally covering both AC and DC equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with experience working on three-phase systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel UK-wide with occasional overnight stays.
• Experience with OCPP, charge point management software, load balancing or smart charging would be advantageous.
