Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is seeking a full-time Transport Delivery Assistant to join the Transport Delivery Team on a fixed-term contract or secondment until 31 March 2029. You will provide technical and administrative support to the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure team and occasionally assist other transport delivery areas.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, supporting reporting, liaising with internal teams, and processing admin tasks while ensuring compliance with council procedures

Qualifications

• Experience in giving advice and guidance to customers.
• Strong communication and numerical abilities with IT proficiency.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and related applications.

Responsibilities

• Responding to and investigating enquiries and complaints from residents, councillors and other stakeholders
• Providing administrative and technical support to the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure team
• Liaising with internal teams to support a coordinated approach to transport projects and consultations
• Assisting with Traffic Regulation Order and Land Charges information when required
• Supporting the preparation of reports and information for the EVI Working Group
• Raising purchase orders, processing invoices and completing other administrative tasks
• Ensuring work complies with relevant council procedures, policies and professional standards
