Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is offering a full-time Transport Delivery Assistant role within the Transport Delivery Team on a fixed-term contract or secondment until 31 March 2029. You will provide technical and administrative support to the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure team and other transport delivery areas.

Reporting to the Principal Transport Delivery Project Manager, you will handle enquiries, maintain records, raise purchase orders, and contribute to reports for the EVI Working Group.

• Experience of working with customers and stakeholders
• Good IT skills including Microsoft applications
• Understanding of financial and budget management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Creative and practical approach to solving problems

Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate enquiries and complaints from residents, councillors and other stakeholders
• Provide administrative and technical support to the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure team
• Liaise with internal teams to support a coordinated approach to transport projects and consultations
• Assist with Traffic Regulation Order and Land Charges information when required
• Support the preparation of reports and information for the EVI Working Group
• Raise purchase orders, process invoices and complete other administrative tasks
• Ensure work complies with relevant council procedures, policies and professional standards
