Job summary

Marmion is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer for a field-based role delivering EV charging infrastructure nationwide. You will diagnose faults, commission equipment, perform maintenance, and provide on-site customer support with a strong emphasis on safety and reporting.

The role requires 3+ years in a commercial electrical environment, UK driving licence, and eligibility to work in the UK. Travel, occasional overnight stays, and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification, AM2 and BS7671 (18th Edition).
• City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing and a valid JIB Gold Card.
• Minimum 3 years’ field-based electrical installation/maintenance experience.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostics, able to work independently in the field.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays.
• Experience in EV charging/renewable energy is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Job description

If you’re a qualified Electrical Engineer who enjoys solving problems in the field, this is an opportunity to join a fast-growing EV infrastructure business delivering critical charging solutions across the UK. Working across AC, Rapid DC, Ultra & High-Power Charging Systems (HPC), you will play a key role in commissioning, maintaining and repairing EV charging equipment, with clear opportunities to develop your skills in a rapidly growing sector.

The Role

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and system faults on EV charging equipment.
• Commission, configure and carry out firmware updates where required.

Skills & Experience

You’ll ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) Electrical Qualification, AM2 and BS7671 - IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
• City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing and a valid JIB Gold Card.
• At least 3 years’ experience working to SLAs in a commercial field-based electrical installation/maintenance environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability with confidence working independently in the field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate and work closely with both internal stakeholders and customers.
• Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (multimeters & voltage testers)
• A valid UK driving licence, happy with regular travel and occasional overnight stays.
• Experience working within EV Charging/Renewable Energy would be advantageous but not essential, our client is open to speaking with candidates from a range of industries.
• Candidates must have a permanent Right to Work in the UK. Please note, our client cannot offer visa sponsorship for this position.
