Job summary

Green Recruitment Company is seeking an EVSE Technician to commission, maintain and repair electric vehicle charging infrastructure, including AC chargers and Rapid DC/HPC units across UK sites.

You will perform testing, calibration, firmware updates, fault diagnosis, and provide on-site client support while ensuring health and safety compliance and ongoing product training.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Electro-Technical qualification or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years’ hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair.
  • Experience working within SLA-driven environments.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment, including multimeters and voltage testers.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex electrical faults.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and prioritise tasks.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Commission and configure AC and Rapid DC EV chargers at client sites.
  • Carry out initial setup, testing, and validation to ensure equipment meets standards.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software faults.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing, firmware updates, and calibration of EV charging equipment.
  • Replace faulty components or complete units per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Work with Service Coordination and Operations to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with project/installation teams to support deployments.
  • Provide on-site technical support and user guidance to clients.
  • Maintain tools and assets in good condition.
  • Record all service activities in the service management system.
  • Ensure work complies with health & safety and electrical standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification initiatives.

TGRC has partnered with a leading UK Independent Connection Provider (ICP) specialising in EV charging infrastructure. The business delivers end-to-end solutions that are helping to accelerate the UK’s transition towards a more sustainable, net-zero future.

As part of their continued growth, they are looking to hire an EVSE Technician to be responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, and repair of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, including AC Chargers and Rapid DC, Ultra, and High-Power Charging (HPC) units across sites in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commission and configure AC and Rapid DC EV chargers at client sites.

  • Carry out initial setup, testing, and validation to ensure equipment meets industry standards and manufacturer requirements.

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maximise charger uptime, reliability, and performance.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related faults.

  • Conduct diagnostic testing, firmware updates, and calibration of EV charging equipment.

  • Replace faulty components or complete units in line with manufacturer guidelines.

  • Work closely with Service Coordination and Operations teams to ensure accurate job reporting and timely follow-up.

  • Collaborate with project and installation teams to support the successful deployment of EV charging infrastructure.

  • Provide on-site technical support and basic user guidance to clients.

  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and company assets in good working condition.

  • Accurately record all service and maintenance activities within the company’s service management system.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations, electrical standards, and company procedures.

  • Participate in ongoing training, safety programmes, and relevant certification initiatives.

Key Requirements:
  • Level 3 Electro-Technical qualification, such as City & Guilds or equivalent.

  • 2–5 years’ hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

  • Understanding of analogue and digital electronics.

  • Strong understanding and awareness of site-based health & safety requirements.
