Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Bathgate, Scotland, is seeking a skilled Mechanic to prepare vehicles for road use, service and repair to high standards, and contribute to a busy workshop.

You will work on a wide range of manufacturers and stay up to date with the latest vehicle technology; a Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance certificate and a full driving licence are required. We offer comprehensive benefits and career progression.

Qualifications

• A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 3 and solid work experience in the automotive industry.
• The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or as part of a busy team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work to deadlines with a proactive approach.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to high standards.
• Inspecting vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Repairing or replacing defective parts.
• Carrying out DVSA vehicle testing where authorised.
• Road testing vehicles to check repairs.
• Maintaining equipment and ensuring tools are in good condition.
• Following checklists to complete procedures.
• Completing all documentation to standard.
