Job summary

ANV Insurance seeks a General Counsel to lead the European legal and company secretarial functions for the international organisation. Reporting to the CLO, the role will start with a team of 3 and expand, with local oversight for Compliance in ANV’s European businesses.

You will manage legal risks, advise on governance and regulatory matters, and oversee external providers while partnering with senior leaders to drive strategic initiatives across the region.

Qualifications

• Strong legal experience in General Insurance and financial services
• Management of a legal function including Company Secretarial and Compliance
• Ability to interact with regulators and industry bodies

Responsibilities

• Lead the International Legal function with oversight of ANV's European businesses
• Provide pragmatic legal, compliance, governance and regulatory guidance
• Manage external counsel and negotiate commercial agreements
• Oversee regulatory initiatives (IDD, GDPR, SMCR, etc.) and corporate matters
• Collaborate with Group functions to deliver strategic priorities
• Support mergers and acquisitions in Europe
