Job summary

Simarco International is seeking a European Operator (Planner) in Stoke on Trent to join a fast-paced team. You will plan and coordinate European movements, maximise trailer payloads, and deliver excellent customer service to clients, suppliers and partners.

The role requires experience in European road freight, strong planning skills, and a proactive approach. Full training is provided for customs procedures; a European language is a bonus but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in European road freight forwarding.
• High level of customer service across face-to-face, telephone and email.
• Strong geographical knowledge and ability to plan European Groupage Trailers.
• Excellent customer service and commercial awareness.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of customs procedures - full training provided if required.
• Ability to consolidate cargo in the UK with payload optimization insight.
• A European language would be a bonus but isn’t essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the smooth, cost-effective movement of goods across Europe.
• Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and partners while delivering service excellence.
• Maximise trailer payloads and consolidate cargo efficiently.
• Take ownership of customer enquiries, solve problems, and maintain high service standards.

• Understand profit and loss and contribute to the company’s long-term success.
• Collaborate with departments to streamline processes and improve operations.
