Job summary

Open Society Foundations in London seeks a Director for Programs, Europe to lead strategic development and implementation of the Europe program. Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading social change and system-change work across civil society, government, multilateral institutions, or private sector.
• Proven ability to develop and implement regional or multi-country strategies across Europe.
• Experience with grantmaking, due diligence, and partner oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Europe program strategy aligned with the foundation's mission and values.
• Oversee a portfolio of grants across Europe and ensure alignment with strategic priorities and impact.
• Build strong relationships with grantees, civil society organizations, and movement leaders to advance human rights and democracy in Europe.
• Represent the organization externally with funders, policymakers, and partners to strengthen credibility and influence.
• Oversee advocacy engagement and coordinate MEL efforts to measure program impact.
