Job summary

Allied World in London is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to manage a diverse portfolio of international construction business, drive profitability, and mentor junior team members.

You will lead submissions, price analysis, terms, and ensure timely binding while collaborating with actuarial, claims, and regional leadership to meet strategic goals. Fluency in English is required; 12+ years of underwriting experience and ACII qualification are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate with ACII (preferred) or equivalent.
• Engineering degree (civil/mechanical) preferred.
• 12+ years underwriting major international construction projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong marketing and business development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite a diverse book of business and manage portfolio profitability.
• Review submissions, price analysis, and terms/conditions.
• Authorize quotes, issue policies, and guide junior staff.
• Collaborate with actuarial for pricing and benchmarking.
