Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc in Trafford is seeking a Plant Operator to run the plant on schedule and ensure discharge water quality per permit. You will sample, adjust flows and dosing, calibrate instruments, and maintain data records while coordinating with clients and authorities.

The role requires experience with water treatment or chemical processes, SCADA proficiency, and strong administrative capabilities. A flexible, safety-conscious team player stance is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating water treatment plants or chemical processes.
• Proficient with SCADA systems and standard software.
• Knowledge of Risk & Assurance principles (COSHH, PPE, Lone Working, Environmental awareness).
• Able to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Strong administrative skills and familiarity with Quality Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with clients, authorities, agencies, contractors, and consultants.
• Comply with health, safety, and statutory regulations.
• Provide standby cover and work flexibly to meet operational demands.

• Comply with all health, safety, and statutory regulations

Experience operating water treatment plants or chemical processes
• Proficient with SCADA systems, standard software (Google/Microsoft), and PDA devices
• Knowledge of Risk & Assurance principles (Risk Assessments, COSHH, PPE, Lone Working, Environmental awareness)
• Competent in production monitoring, instrumentation calibration/validation..
• Strong administrative skills (logs, records, work orders, stock management)
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems
• First-line maintenance capabilities (cleaning, greasing, calibration, condition monitoring)
• Able to work independently and prioritize tasks, including alarm response and interpretation
