Job summary

Swansea University is seeking a Human Tissue Research Compliance Manager to oversee governance of research involving human tissue. You will maintain and develop the University’s SOPs and provide expert guidance to researchers, students, and professional services staff.

Working with Ethics Committees and the Infonetica system, you will advise on consent, regulatory requirements, and approvals throughout the research lifecycle, ensuring compliance with the Human Tissue Act and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and developing the University’s Human Tissue Research SOPs and providing specialist advice to researchers, students, and professional services staff.
• Support the review of ethics applications and sponsorship requests for studies requiring NHS Ethics Committee approval.
• Advise on informed consent, records management, sample use and storage, and disposal, promoting good research practice and compliance.
