Job summary

Clancy, a leading UK construction company, seeks an experienced Estimator to join our Fareham pre-construction team. You will develop accurate estimates for water sector projects, including networks, pumping stations, reservoirs and pipelines, typically up to £20 million, contributing to successful tenders across frameworks.

You will work with NEC3/NEC4 contracts where applicable, produce detailed take-offs, review quotations, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure competitive,

Qualifications

• Experience estimating civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with commercial awareness.
• Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications; working with NEC3/NEC4 contracts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates from drawings, specs and tender docs.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and develop first-principles rates.
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy.
• Identify risks, opportunities and VE solutions for competitive tenders.
• Support tender submissions with clear assumptions and exclusions.
• Collaborate with pre-construction, engineering, ops and commercial teams.
• Assist handover of successful tenders to delivery teams after award.
• Maintain estimating databases and benchmarks for future tenders.
• Manage multiple tenders and deadlines to ensure timely, sound estimates.
