Job summary

The Clancy Group in Ramsgate is seeking an experienced Estimator for its pre-construction team. You will develop accurate estimates for water and infrastructure projects, coordinating with pre-construction, engineering and commercial teams.

Ideal candidates have civil engineering estimating experience, NEC contract familiarity and strong Excel/estimating-system skills to support competitive tenders and handovers to delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Estimating experience within civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure or similar construction environment.
• Water and wastewater sector experience is beneficial.
• Able to interpret drawings/specifications, review quotations and assess risks/opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates from drawings, specifications and tender docs.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and develop first-principles rates.
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering for tenders.
• Support tender submissions with assumptions/clarifications/exclusions.
• Collaborate with pre-construction, engineering, operations and commercial teams.
• Handover successful tenders to delivery teams after contract award.
• Maintain estimating databases and benchmarks for future tenders.
• Manage multiple tenders and deadlines to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
