Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Estimator - Steel for our client, a UK structural steelwork specialist, based in Wombwell, Barnsley (South Yorkshire). The role focuses on managing enquiries, preparing detailed estimates from drawings and specs, and supporting tender processes.

You will work closely with clients and internal teams to identify viable schemes, maintain relationships, and help develop new business opportunities.

Estimator - Steel

Position: Estimator - BSL

Location: Wombwell, Barnsley (South Yorkshire)

Salary: £30,000-£45,000 (DOE)

Working Arrangement: Site based

Employment Type: Permanent

Estimator required in Wombwell, Barnsley (South Yorkshire) for our client, an established UK structural steelwork specialist.

Our client is looking to recruit a commercially aware and customer-focused Estimator, capable of managing a varied workload within tight deadlines. The successful candidate will have a practical understanding of the estimating process and the ability to work from detailed drawings and specifications.

Estimator - Steel Job Overview

The Estimator will be responsible for managing the enquiry and tender process, preparing detailed estimates for clients and identifying commercially viable schemes. The role will involve working closely with clients and internal departments, maintaining existing relationships and supporting the development of new business opportunities.

• Ensuring the smooth operation of the estimating and tender process
• Liaising closely with clients and departments across the business

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Ideally hold a relevant qualification in an appropriate technical or engineering-related discipline
• Previous experience within structural steelwork would be advantageous
• Thorough practical understanding of the estimating process
• Ability to work from detailed drawings and specifications
• Commercially aware and customer-focused
• Effective communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues at all levels
• Ability to manage a varied workload and work to tight deadlines

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm and Friday 8:30am-3:45pm.
