Job summary

Westin Par LLP is seeking an experienced Estimator to own tenders from enquiry to contract award for a diverse Midlands portfolio (Manufacturing + Logistics). The role sits in the pre-construction team of a growing contractor and requires a full UK driving licence.

You will produce budgets and tenders, take-offs from drawings, prepare BOQs, issue inquiries, evaluate quotations and manage post-tender negotiations through to contract award.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
• Experience with Logistics and Facilities sectors.
• Strong understanding of construction tendering and pre-construction processes.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Experience preparing estimates, tenders and cost plans.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed budgets, construction estimates and tenders.
• Reviewing employer requirements, specifications and tender documents.
• Undertaking quantity take-offs from drawings and project information.
• Preparing Bills of Quantities and pricing schedules.
• Producing and issuing subcontractor and supplier enquiries.
• Evaluating quotations and preparing tender comparisons.
• Managing tender submissions and associated documentation.
• Handling post-tender negotiations and queries.
• Managing projects through the pre-construction and contract award stages.
• Coordinating successful handovers to operational delivery teams.
• Maintaining and developing subcontractor and supplier relationships.
• Attending client meetings and project site visits.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with strong commercial awareness to take ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to contract award, working on a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects across the Midlands (Manufacturing + Logistics Facilities)

The successful candidate will play a key role in securing future business, developing subcontractor relationships and supporting the continued growth of a highly respected construction contractor.
