Cornerstone Project Source Ltd is recruiting a Permanent Estimator / Senior Estimator in Kent to join the pre-construction team, collaborating with clients, the design team and project managers to prepare accurate cost estimates for metalwork projects.

The role covers structural steel, balconies, staircases, balustrades, railings, glass systems, decking and sheet metalwork, with a salary of £50,000–£55,000 per annum depending on experience; hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator in construction, with a focus on architectural and structural metalwork (Essential)
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and industry standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Analyse drawings, specifications to determine project requirements
• Quantify materials, labour and resources for metalwork projects
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates including overheads
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing

Job description

Cornerstone Project Source Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a leading structural steel and architectural metalwork specialist for a Permanent Estimator / Senior Estimator in Kent. Working within the pre-construction team, you will collaborate closely with clients, the design team and project managers to prepare accurate cost estimates for metalwork projects of varying scale and complexity, including structural steelwork, balconies, staircases, metal balustrades, railings, glass systems, decking and sheet metalwork.Start Date: Immediate
Salary: Circa £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday)
Location: Kent

Duties:

• Analyse project drawings, specifications and other documentation to accurately assess project requirements
• Quantify materials, labour and other resources needed for metalwork projects
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, considering material, labour and equipment costs and overheads
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services
• Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality
• Participate in project meetings, providing insight on cost-related matters and contributing to value engineering
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing data and project documentation
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase and provide regular updates to project stakeholders

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on architectural and structural metalwork (Essential)
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and industry standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment and meet deadlines
