Cornerstone Project Source Ltd is recruiting for a Permanent Estimator/Senior Estimator in Kent. You will work within the pre-construction team to prepare accurate cost estimates for metalwork projects, including structural steelwork, balconies, staircases and balustrades.

Immediate start with a circa £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (DOE). Role involves analysing drawings, pricing materials, labour and equipment, and collaborating with subcontractors to secure competitive bids.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with focus on architectural/structural metalwork.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specifications and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyse project drawings, specifications and documentation to assess requirements.

Cornerstone Project Source Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a leading structural steel and architectural metalwork specialist for a Permanent Estimator / Senior Estimator in Kent. Working within the pre-construction team, you will collaborate closely with clients, the design team and project managers to prepare accurate cost estimates for metalwork projects of varying scale and complexity, including structural steelwork, balconies, staircases, metal balustrades, railings, glass systems, decking and sheet metalwork. Start Date: Immediate Salary: Circa £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (DOE) Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday) Location: Kent Type of Work: Pre-construction estimating for structural and architectural metalwork projects

Duties:

• Analyse project drawings, specifications and other documentation to accurately assess project requirements
• Quantify materials, labour and other resources needed for metalwork projects
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, considering material, labour and equipment costs and overheads
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services
• Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality
• Participate in project meetings, providing insight on cost-related matters and contributing to value engineering
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing data and project documentation
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase and provide regular updates to project stakeholders

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on architectural and structural metalwork (Essential)
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and industry standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Effective communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a busy environment and meet deadlines
