Job summary

Tarmac Trading Limited in Leeds is seeking an experienced Estimator (Highways) to lead pricing and tendering from enquiry through submission. You will work closely with commercial and operational teams to deliver competitive bids that win major projects in the region.

The role requires a strong commercial mind, detailed analysis, and the ability to manage risks and relationships with clients. A degree or equivalent industry experience, plus proficiency with estimating systems, are essential.

• Significant commercial and estimating experience within Highways, Surfacing, Civils, or Infrastructure.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and are highly organised.
• Commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
• Effective communication skills and can engage diverse stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing

You will support the Commercial Manager and wider business in delivering commercial objectives and growth plans by managing the pricing and tendering process from enquiry through to submission. You will be responsible for:

What We're Looking For

You're someone who enjoys solving commercial challenges and has a keen eye for detail. You'll be naturally analytical, organised and able to work effectively under pressure. Youll thrive in this role if you have:

• Significant commercial and estimating experience within Highways, Surfacing, Civils, or Infrastructure
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and are highly organised
• Commercial awareness and strategic thinking
• Effective communication skills and can engage diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work accurately and effectively to tight deadlines
• Strong IT literacy and confidence working with estimating systems
• A logical, structured and process-driven approach with high levels of attention to detail
• Degree-level education and/or significant relevant industry experience
• Confidence when navigating both financial and contractual risk
