Job summary

Turner & Townsend is recruiting an experienced Estimator to join our UK Estimating team and support Defence sector clients on complex programmes. The role requires a UK national holding UK MoD Security Clearance (SC) and the ability to maintain it.

The successful candidate will produce estimates from magnitude to detailed cost models, manage project-level estimating processes, and promote best practices across the client organisations and internal team.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering.
• Experience in Defence sector and complex cost model development.
• Experience compiling and delivering complex estimates and cost models.
• Experience working in an integrated Project Controls team and on public sector projects.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication and client-facing experience.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering.
• Experience working in the Defence sector and in complex cost model development.
• Demonstrable experience in compiling, assuring and delivering complex estimates and cost models.
• Experience working within an integrated Project Controls team and on public sector projects.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and client‑facing experience.

Preferred

• Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or a degree qualification.
• Experience in early‑stage estimating for major Defence infrastructure programmes.
• Familiarity with industry‑standard estimating software packages.
