Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking an Estimator (Construction / Refurbishment) in Rochester. The role focuses on managing the full tender process for industrial and commercial refurbishment projects, pricing works from £10K to £2 million, and ensuring a smooth handover to the Contracts Team.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in construction, strong dilapidation/refurbishment knowledge, and a main contractor background.

Qualifications

• Estimator or similar with at least 5 years' experience in the building/construction industry.
• Experience pricing projects within a main contractor environment.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and complete tender submissions from initial enquiry through to final pricing.
• Attend site visits to assess and price specified works.
• Estimate projects ranging from £10K to £2 million.
• Complete and manage Excel-based pricing spreadsheets.
• Work on industrial units and commercial premises for pension and investment funds.
• Liaise with the Contracts Team to ensure smooth handover of tenders.

Are you an Estimator or similar with experience in the construction industry, looking for a permanent, office-based role within an established main contractor offering a competitive salary, long-term stability and offers great progression and development opportunities?

Do you want to join a busy and growing refurbishment and fit-out contractor specialising in industrial units and commercial premises, working with major pension and investment funds, offering the opportunity to take ownership of tenders ranging from £10K to £2 million?

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full tender process, attending site visits and pricing specified works across a range of commercial and industrial refurbishment projects. You will complete Excel-based pricing spreadsheets, submit tenders and work closely with the wider Estimating Department, ensuring successful tenders are handed over effectively to the Contracts Team.

This role would suit an Estimator or similar with at least 5 years' experience in the building/construction industry, a strong understanding of dilapidation and refurbishment works and experience pricing projects within a main contractor environment. You will be looking to join an established business where you can utilise your estimating experience across a varied portfolio of projects.

The role:
