Job summary

Unknown company in Sheffield is seeking an Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive tenders for groundworks and civil engineering packages. The role requires reviewing drawings, BOQs, and tender docs, with strong numeracy and commercial sense to price earthworks, drainage, foundations and external works.

The ideal candidate will have experience in groundworks, civils or residential infrastructure, and be able to liaise with suppliers and internal teams to drive successful bids.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating groundworks, civils or housebuilding projects.
• Ability to read drawings, bills of quantities and tender documents.
• Strong numeracy and cost estimation capabilities.
• Experience with estimating software or take-off tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, drawings and specifications to prepare cost estimates.
• Measure quantities from drawings and tender documents.
• Price works including earthworks, drainage, foundations and external works.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations.
• Support tender submissions and meet deadlines.
• Maintain records of costs, rates and assumptions.
