Job summary

Strong Recruitment Group Limited is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their Basildon-based team. The role focuses on preparing cost estimates for bespoke joinery packages, reviewing drawings and tender enquiries, and supporting project handover after tenders are secured.

Candidates should have strong experience in bespoke joinery estimating, be capable of reading technical drawings, and possess excellent Excel and IT skills to manage multiple tenders and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating experience within bespoke joinery, interiors or fit-out.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of joinery materials and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender enquiries.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for bespoke joinery packages.
• Complete material and labour take-offs.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Price manufacturing, installation and associated project costs.
• Liaise with clients, designers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Identify commercial risks, exclusions and value engineering opportunities.
• Support project handover once tenders are secured.

Estimator – Bespoke Joinery

Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We are recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established specialist joinery contractor based in Basildon.

The business delivers high-quality bespoke joinery and specialist interior packages across commercial projects and is looking to strengthen its pre-construction team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications and tender enquiries.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for bespoke joinery packages.
• Complete material and labour take-offs.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Price manufacturing, installation and associated project costs.
• Liaise with clients, designers, suppliers and internal teams.

Requirements

• Previous estimating experience within bespoke joinery, architectural joinery, interiors or fit-out.
• Strong understanding of joinery materials and manufacturing processes.

• Strong Excel and general IT skills.
• Confident managing multiple tenders and deadlines.
